On Saturday evening, I went into Philip’s room and found him laying on his bed half asleep. It was too early for him to go to bed, so I gave him his bath early. I hoped that, once he was clean, he would return to his room, relax and fall asleep. Sure, it would be a little early, but considering that he had stayed up until 2:00 am the night before, Mommy was really looking forward to hitting the sack herself.
Unfortunately, Philip got his second wind after the bath. Instead of sleeping, he:
Okay, this was awesome. What time did he finally go to bed? Or did he just fall asleep in the pantry among the peanut butter, flour and Panko bread crumbs?

He finally laid back down on the couch and was asleep by 11 pm.

At least I didn’t take a dose of Nyquil like I did the night before. I had to prop open my eyelids that night!

I think they are cute, too. I just hope he doesn’t obsess over the hole in the foot.

My eldest used to literally jump up and down to stay awake– If I could get her to lie down for two seconds she would fall asleep, but she would go to any length NOT to lie down!

Totally delightful candid camera shots! Oh for the unending energy and enthusiasm of childhood! Poor Mommy… she was probably found curled up and asleep on the pantry floor with her camera in her hand! :0)

Well, I guess I should be thankful that the little guy answered the question, “What should my ‘Sunday Slideshow’ be about?”

Also, you realize, of course, that anyone with papparazzi following them feels the responsibility of putting on a show, right?

Great photos! It looks like he had a blast, even if the time wasn’t right. I really miss those days when my kids were little.

The best laid plans…My first child never wanted to go to bed, and once she was finally in bed, she stayed awake as long as she could. She outlasted me more than once. Then I was blessed with my second child, who liked nothing better than napping and going to bed.
Telling your story in photos was so perfect for this post!!!
