skunk

whining dog wakes me.
let him out without a leash?
my nose warns me: no!

Getting back to nature for day 16 of NaHaiWriMo. It was the middle of the night and I didn’t want to fuss with the leash, but I realized cleaning up a sprayed dog would be more inconvenient.

  1. I had to walk our Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle on her leash in our fenced backyard last night for the very same reason, Cyn. Skunk season. She’s been sprayed twice here in our Syracuse city neighborhood of Eastwood, and we’ll do everything to avoid No. 3. You are so right. Great reminder post to all of us dog owners. 😮

    1. As with everything, your story reminds me of an episode of Curious George in which he gets skunked multiple times.

We don’t have a fenced yard, so I almost always have the dog on his leash. I thought for once that it was late enough and he is old enough not to run off. But as soon as I smelled skunk . . .
      Nope.
