Wish me luck

Last week I wrote about making meatloaf for my picky-eater husband. Today, while he is asleep on the couch, I’m making stuffed cabbage. Or, as he refers to it, dolma. I found an easy recipe online that called for condensed tomato soup as the sauce. When I poured it over the cabbage rolls, it did not look like enough liquid. After consulting some other recipes, I threw in a can of diced tomatoes. In other words, wish me luck. I have no idea how this is going to turn out.

Update: He ate seconds and has agreed to dine on leftovers later this week. Success!

  1. I always add 1/2 can of water to the condensed soup (when I do my dolma that way) and mix it up well before pouring it on. It works, it isn’t great but it isn’t awful either. Good luck with yours…here’s hoping it is way better than you think!


    1. Since the recipe didn’t mention water, I thought it must not need it even though I wasn’t impressed by the size of the recommended can vs. what was waiting to be covered. Thanks for the tip!
