Sunday Slideshow: sticktoitiveness, the Easter edition

It’s a beautiful Easter day here, so I took Philip to a local waterfowl park for an afternoon hike. We went to the same park just over a month ago. We wore our winter coats and hats. We followed the trail around a frozen pond. The only birds we observed were a handful of Canadian geese. I put together a slideshow all about how Philip kept picking up sticks.

Today, I left our jackets in the car. The water was thawed. In addition to additional geese, we saw an oriole, robins, ducks, sparrows and a cardinal. While most things are still brown and decaying, there were signs that spring is here: buds and mud.

The one thing that didn’t change from last time was Philip’s interest in sticks. I lost count after he picked up the tenth stick as we hiked around the pond.

As we were walking, I couldn’t help humming this tune.

  1. My son loves picking up sticks too still….but because of Science and Grade 3 structures study he wants to use them to build a structure to stop our cat from taking a particular path…
