drive me to distraction

Be my chauffeur, please.
Open the door, I’ll hop in.
Byway or highway,
burn rubber, put miles between
me and this mundanity.

Fuel up, ditch the map.
Suggested destinations:
the shore, a dude ranch,
a carnival, haunted house,
or maybe sky-diving school.

Testing my skill at tanka form for the yeah write September poetry slam
