it will wash off

The splishing and sploshing of puddles sounded sensational, but wasn’t satisfying. My feet needed to be free. I kicked off my galoshes and shed my socks. Before you caught me, I gallivanted. The warm mud squishing between my toes soothed my soul.

  1. I think this is the third post I’ve read that uses the word “mud” – that is so weird that we just associate boots with mud. I love the word ‘gallivanting.’
