the hag

When your “Please God, no more,” prayer remains unanswered after many soggy days, you’ll seek her out. Don’t go empty-handed; your mockery has been noted. With sufficient tribute, she’ll turn her sightless gaze to the clouds.

They’ll dry up before your eyes.

  1. Mythology gets me every time. This is wonderfully depicted and enticingly described. I have always loved the idea of her all-seeing-ness despite (or because of) her blindness. You selected exactly the right details here!

  2. Oh I really like this. I read it twice just to feel the same thing I felt when I first read it. It’s mysterious, dark, and hopeful –kind of too. Very cool!
