crow

You can feed your ego,

choking on your cleverness,

gnawing at the bitter solitude of

always

being

right.

– or –

You can nourish your soul,

swallowing your piquant pride,

savoring your sweet flaw.

Each

tender

mistake

morsel

will be seasoned with delicious humility.

  1. Once you have a taste it’s easier with each forkful.
Being kind is always better than being right. Nice visuals and language.

  2. “the bitter solitude of always being right”–great phrase! I’ve have definitely fought and “won” some of those battles. I loved how you made the second choice seem so delightful. (It doesn’t feel that way, right?) I liked your layout, too. Tasty.

  3. Great write, Cyn. I love this: “savoring your sweet flaw.” Delicious humility, yes. And the title is Perfection.

  4. Lovely, Cyn! Both in intention and execution. I can’t even pick out my favorite part. Wonderful, wonderful job – so glad you gargleblasted. 🙂

  5. Oh man, we are struggling to teach Caroline how to be wrong. She cannot do it, even when facts are sitting right in front of her. She persists in believing that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is different from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, even though we OWN both and she has seen the texts side by side. Literal minded child combined with ODD equals one stressed kid in a world where age ten is rarely right.
