A chorus of chirps

Fluttering wings unseen in garden camouflage

Coins exchanged for a sugary, liquid treat.

She became a statue holding nectar in her outstretched hand.

In a flash of green feathers,

the lorikeet alit on her fingers to sip sweetness.
