I don’t remember the last time I consumed an “adult” beverage. I have never been a big drinker. I tried alcohol in college, but it held little appeal for me. I didn’t like the feeling of being out of control. Mostly drinking just makes me sleepy. Since my hips don’t need any more insulation, the main reason I don’t drink is to avoid the extra calories.
Once I became a working stiff, I began to partake in happy hours. When I would drink, you were more likely to see imbibing a margarita on the rocks (salt, please) or a Tanqueray and tonic than a chardonnay or Merlot. I tried to get into wine, but unless it was one of those sweet dessert wines, I just didn’t enjoy the taste.
Today you’ll find me over at Arden’s blog, Musings of a Dancing Wino. Unlike me, she can actually dance with or without wine. She asked for guest posts because she committed to NaNoWriMo (that’s National Novel Writing Month for those of you OD’ing on all of the acronyms lately). I was afraid to offer up a post since I committed to NaBloPoMo, but hey, this totally counts.

I do love a margarita, rocks, salt, extra lime. There are times when really that’s the only thing that’s appropriate.

Ah yes. I miss the days when I lived in Albuquerque and could dine outdoors almost year round. The best way to enjoy a margarita was on a patio with a view of the Sandia Mountains.

That’s okay–I drank enough in college for four people. How my liver made it out alive is a mystery, but I still can’t dance!

LOL! You’re right..that is funny! Alcohol and dancing is about as promising as wine and a nearby phone. I mean…so I’ve heard. 🙂
